PRIVACY NOTICE
Camberwell Grammar School (“the School”) is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988. In relation to health records, the School is also bound by the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic.). The School complies with the Acts in the collection, handling, use and disclosure of personal information.
The School will be collecting personal information about scholarship applicants and recipients. The primary purpose of collecting this information is to:
assess an applicant’s eligibility for the scholarship
resolve a complaint
administer our scholarships
record all relevant interactions with an individual if required
for other purposes related to any of the above.
If any personal information requested by the School is not provided, this may affect the School's ability to assess the application against the scholarship guidelines.
Personal information will be used and accessed by the School, and any necessary third parties who assist with the management and administration of School scholarships, including third party contractors and service providers, our insurers and any person with a lawful entitlement to obtain the information.
The School may also use cloud computing service providers to store personal information (which may include sensitive information) on their servers in the 'cloud'. These servers may be located within or outside Australia. This may mean that personal information may be stored or processed outside Australia.
As not all countries are bound by laws which provide the same level of protection for personal information as the Australian Privacy Principles, the School makes reasonable efforts to be satisfied about the protection of any personal information that may be collected, processed and stored outside Australia in connection with any cloud and third-party services.
The School’s Privacy Policy contains further information about the type of information the School holds and how it manages your information, including how you can, subject to some exemptions, access personal and sensitive information about you that the School holds and request any corrections. It also sets out how you can complain about any alleged breaches of the APPs and how the School will deal with any complaints. A full copy of
Privacy Policy is available on the School’s website.
Personal information provided to apply for scholarships will be kept by the School until the end of the year the applications are submitted, at which time it will be destroyed or permanently de-identified.
